Fallen Angel. PASWG Inspired Keyblade

This was an idea I had for a while. I love both the cartoon styled anime Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt, and the action RPG series Kingdom Hearts. So, I went and combined two of my favourite pieces of media into a weapon called a keyblade. Keyblades are sword like weapons that are used by the protagonist to defeat monsters. They can also be used to cast spells and seal magical keyholes to protect the world the user is visiting. Once you complete your quest in said world you will be given the key that represent it e.g Aladdin, Mulan, Toy Story. 
My first mission was to figure out what this keyblade was going to look like. To make this right, I was going to combine the guns and swords from Panty & Stocking to form the key. Now Keyblades in the games all have wild and unique form based on the media of the world you visited. The PSG world is know for weapons, Angel, ghost and demons. I made the first sketch relatively simple by placing the pistol on the tail end of the sword to act as the end of the key. The second rough I got more experimental and added the hair from the two main characters from PSG for added style.
Originally part of the hair was going to shoot of the gun, as I believed it could like an explosion, but after some more test I decided to add the blonde hair to the blue and pink hair. When making the line art, I felt like there was something missing from the design. I added some different versions of ghost to act as the end of the key. I still love the ghost with the big bullet hole in it’s face. In the end I did not use the ghost because I believed it was cluttering up the keyblade andI later realised that the weapon looked great without them.
For the hilt of the handle I added two zippers to the side, which are based on the one’s found on Panty & Stocking’s demon dog, Chuck. For the finishing touches, I added the keychain, which is the item that changes the appearance and statistics of the Kingdom Key. For this, I added a Heaven Coin, which is an item collected by Panty & Stocking which are used to return to the afterlife. The background was roughly based on the title font from PSG, which was designed to look like lingerie as the two main characters would turn their underwear into weapon in order to fight ghost. This is also the reason why the keyblade uses bright colours.
