ANNA. Furniture Concept Art Part 4

My next job was to design concept art for a Native American rug. Even though some of the patterns look simplistic, they actually took some fine tuning to get right. Pattern placement was important to me, as I wanted the carpets to look tangible to the audience.

I was getting a little tired of using our current colour palette for the furniture, so I discussed this issue with the art director. He said I could experiment with colours outside the palette to see if it could improve the designs of the furniture. I used purple and pink as the base colours. Although I thought the new colours looked nice, looking back I can now see that the original palettes were more subtle as the hues were less saturated.
