Throughout the process of creation the next piece of furniture to be made was a table. The furniture itself was inspired by Native American culture. When I first began designing, my original idea was to make the table as exaggerated as possible, in order to make it look more appealing.
I created the first version as a craps table with totem pole legs because I thought making a stereotypical Native American table would be hilarious. I later realised that even if this version was made as a joke, a lot of people would not find it funny, in fact, they would be furious. I removed the facial features from the legs and edited the top of the table to be flat. I also made new patterns for the legs to make the design more refined.
When it came to colouring I had a difficult decision when it came to the palette I should use. The first palette had yellow as it’s primary colour while the second palette used grey as the base colour. I still like both palettes, however yellow look more suitable as it looked natural compared to the grey table that looked as if it were made out of stone.
